As an FSS, you will have the opportunity to engage families and children in the community to ensure positive outcomes.
This position offers flexible hours with variable scheduling which may include evening and weekend availability as required to meet the needs of families as well as contractual requirements.
This position will serve the city of Waukee in Dallas, Story & Boone Counties and surrounding areas in Iowa; travel is expected.
Job Responsibilities Provide in-home intervention to children and their families utilizing skill-based, evidence-based practices to help implement solutions to problems and strengthen families.
Participate in the preparation and implementation of a service plan with input from all parties involved (DHHS, other contracted agencies, court, client, etc.
).
Develop and implement a service agenda for each session.
Maintain regular contact with contracting agencies, family, and other identified parties to achieve goals.
Document service delivery, including objectives of treatment and/or intervention strategies.
Understand and utilize defined assessment tools in working with all cases.
Coordinate interdisciplinary treatment when needed.
Participate in discharge planning.
Complete on-call duties as assigned.
Calmly and effectively provide crisis intervention in emergency situations.
Maintain caseload and consistently achieve contract requirements.
Qualifications Education requirements:
o Associate of arts degree from an accredited college/university recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 2 years of full-time experience in human services or a related field; or o A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college/university recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA); or o A Master's Degree from an accredited college/university recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Possess and maintain a valid Iowa driver's license and personal automobile insurance.
Have immediate access to reliable transportation.
Have a passion for serving Iowa's children and families, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
